No audio while streaming video to TV

I have downloaded movie from the Google Play store. After connecting hdmi mini to nexus 10, I am able to stream video to my tv. I can see the display but no audio comes out. Trying some personal videos, YouTube and playing Need For Speed also have the same issue.  The volume is working on my tablet if I listen to music. Is there some things or setting I am missing?

The audio should work out of the box with Nexus 10. It is not necessary to use extra app.
* The HBO Go does disable playback over HDMI, so this is no support.
*  You may have a faulty cord or a bad cable. Go to buy one from Amazon, like Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable 6 feet, BlueRigger High Speed Micro HDMI to HDMI cable with Ethernet (10 Feet)
* If you use an HDMI switcher, plug the cable directly to the TV.

Nexus 10 no responding and reboot issues

I have finally bought the Samsung Nexus 10, but it comes with strange behavior. When I am browsing website and scrolling down a page, the Chrome app suddenly becomes no responding and the tablet malfunctions and frozes up with the screen on. I have to hold down the power button to reboot it. Then I try using Firefox, it crashes 5 time in a 15 minute browsing session.

My friend's also has the similar issue. He played the Angry bird game for two hour and then the screen flashed and the device rebooted itself.

I think it is a bug in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. That happen frequently on my N7 after updated.

How to Turn off 3G and use wifi only

I want to avoid accidental roaming charges on my Nexus 7 3G model with a limited 3G data plan, so I always have to disable all wireless features and even power down the tablet. But sometime I need to browse internet and read email. Is there a solution without data roaming charges for Android users?

How to Turn off 3G and still use wifi only on Nexus 7
* From start screen, tap on your Settings app that looks like a gear.
* Tap on More > Mobile Networks, uncheck "Data Enabled." to turn off just your 3G radio. Then you can connect to a Wi-Fi enabled router or hotspot and you should see only a Wi-Fi signal icon on screen.

Obviously, some apps also promise to do the same thing, such as Power Toggles which is excellent toggle bar widget, and other widgets that purport to uncheck it as well.

Messaging is sending a large amount of SMS messages

I have got the LG Nexus 4 phone. When I try to send a lot of text with in a short time, it pops up the error message "Messaging is sending a large amount of SMS messages. Do you want to allow this app to continue sending message?" with Deny and Allow options. It is annoying. Is there a way to remove or disable the warning?
This is really a useful feature of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It can help you prevent rogue/malicious apps from sending lots of SMS in the background without your knowledge. If it allows uers to add whitelisting for some apps, that would be nice. Now the only way to remove it is to use a modded SMS .apk file or install a custom ROM.

Nexus 7 reboot itself after Android 4.2 updated

After installing the OTA Android 4.2 upgrade onto my nexus 7 without rooted and unlocked, now it keep rebooting itself, even in safe mode. I just have a day of usual use. I am also experiencing that the apps crash and keyboard doesn't go away from screen. I try to do a hard reset and it still randomly reboot very 30 seconds on its own. This doesn't happened on 4.1. How to fix the issues?

There is a general 4.2 problem. You need to do a system hard reset.
* Shut down the tablet and connect it to computer.
* Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power to power it up, then select the Recovery Mode option. Use volume button to go to "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" and do that.
* Another way is to go to Setting, switch off WiFi and connect network again. That also seems to fix it.

How to fix crash/lagging issue on android 4.2

I am having a small number of problems with lag on my Google nexus 7. After updated to android 4.2, it is probably causing extreme lag and keeps crashing for me, such as exiting an app, switching screen and etc, even sometimes just freezes. When I try to change the direction from landscape mode to horizontal, it runs slowly and takes about six seconds to rotate but just rotated within two second before. Is that a way to get it working normally?

How to fix lagging issue on android 4.2
* Try deleting the cache should solve the similar problem.
* Basically to go into the built-in recovery utility. Turn off the device, and connect it to computer via USB cable. Press and hold the Volume Up/Down + Power button to turn it on. Select the Recovery Mode option by using volume button, and then confirm it by pressing Power button.
* Now go to clear the device cache. And you will notice that every thing are much improved.

Bluetooth not working issues after Android 4.2 updated

Everything worked flawlessly on Android 4.1.2. Today I receive the update to Android 4.2 and have it done on my Nexus 7 using the OTA. When I try to stream music to my bluetooth speaker system, the Bluetooth become unusable and almost broken. It starts stuttering or crackling every 10-15 seconds, even no way to turn Bluetooth on.

I try 3 different A2DP devices and also can not listen to music. When I detect and pair with devices in my car, bluetooth suddenly disconnect and then make apps crashing. Making 4.2 Factory image still has the same issues.

Hope Google release the patch soon.

Nexus 4 Headphone Jack problem

I recently bought a new Google Nexus 4 by LG and have this problem. I have about 5 different headphones from cheap to expensive, such as Panasonic RPHJE120K, Klipsch IMAGE S4 In-Ear Enhanced Bass Noise-Isolating, Bose IE2 Audio. When I try using one of them to  to listen to music and forcibly push the jack, none of them could fit snugly into the phone. To  get sound, I need to  lightly force it in and hold it into the connection. If I let go, the sound will be lose.

It seems to be a big problem and common on new devices. If you can't hear anything, except from the system speakers, you should gotta push them in more to get them tightly fitting. After a few uses, it will break-in and be working well.

If there is only audio on the left/right of the headphones, make sure it is not faulty and snug in the port. The methods fix the issues.

I have got the Samsung Nexus 10 16GB Model. I want to completely backup all settings of the tablet and all installed apps to some tar.gz file and put it on my desktop computer or laptop, explicitly not to backup my stuff in cloud. Maybe inside with the Google Play Links for downloading. So I am able to restore it anywhere? How can I do that?

Poor battery life on 32Gb model

I had bought a Nexus 7 32GB model and let it charge fully through a day. I notice the poor battery life issues. I just keep staying on WiFi and browse the internet, but the battery go from 100 to 72 percent in two hours. Compared to my 16GB, the battery drains faster and it doesn't near the same amount of battery life. I am horrified that I have to charge it three times today.

If you keep screen on and make somethings like surfing, Google Earth, reading Ebooks, you get about 6-9 hours. Playing game all the time should use more power. Some running android might cause the issue, so you'd better find it out and kill it.

After I bought a Google Nexus 4 smart phone, I want to adjust something with it. I just use it connect to internet from my home WiFi network and have the mobile data limits, so I need to disable 3G mobile data alone for saving more battery life and data usage. How can I fix the issues?

* A SIM card is used to identify a unique subscriber on the network and its tray is located on the left side of the phone under the volume button.
* Power it off and use a thin pin into a small hole which is just above the tray door for ejecting the slot. And slide the micro SIM card gently inside it.
* Finally push it gently back into your phone.

Titanium Create Flashable Zips Of data backup

If you are a Titanium Pro user and have downloaded a new ROM and want to install it on your Android device, you need to backup all your apps first and make a nandroid backup in recovery mode. After installing the ROM successfully, you should set up and restore all data. But this takes you a long time.

With the latest update on Titanium Backup Pro app, you are able to create a flashable zip file of all your apps and data. An "apps+data" update.zip is very helpful for flashing all things after firing up new system.

There are also other features in TB, like upload larger than 150 MB files to Dropbox, display all app's storage use on a screen.

Photos Daydream mode on Android 4.2

There are many new features included in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, such as Swype-like gesture typing Keyboard, Photo Sphere and multi-accounts support. Daydream is perhaps not a helpful function and seems to be relatively useless crap, but it is quite cool on your tablet or phone.

With turning "Daydream" mode on and your device is idle or docked, the screen will display and fill up with the latest pictures from your photo album within gallery app or feeding from Google Currents and other apps.

If you have updated to Android 4.2, you could dock your Nexus 7 at work in the office or put it on desktop at home for getting a pictures showing.

Install and run Chromium OS on Nexus 7

Google's own Chromium operating system is a Linux-based  open source project. It is simple to use and run securely and fast, working exclusively with web applications. Many users are wondering how to install the desktop OS on android device.

Chrome OS has been running onto an Android tablet yet. Chromium developer Hexxeh has ported Chromium to his Nexus 7 successfully. The touch input and WiFi functions are working. The image is not available for download since now and it doesn't work with Android 2.2. Hope adding a dual boot configuration.

This is cool. You need to wait for its release date and I will try it out on N7.

Photo Sphere still brings up a normal panoramic photo mode, but it guides you to where you need to aim the next snapshot by moving right or left, up and down, and zooming in/out.

The camera app take some photos in higher level and some lower. The system will stitch all images together into a big "Street View" type photo. Then you are able to easily upload the Photo Sphere creations to Google Maps.

Wireless stream video to TV on Android 4.2

Android 4.2 is a new flavor of Jelly Bean version that is released by Google recently. It is similar to Android 4.1, but bring up some major new features. One of them is to beam content to TV using a wireless display adapter that connects via HDMI, like iPad's Airplay.

The feature uses an industry-standard Wi-Fi display sharing protocol called Miracast. With Miracast-compatible TV, you are able to stream audio and video to the big screen on your Nexus 7 or 10 for gaming and others. LG has already builded it into all of its 2013 smart TVs and that works well on 4.2.

I will go to try from the N7 to a 50-inch plasma panasonic 3d and see if it works.

Android 4.2 multiple users on Nexus 10-inchs

The Mac, Windows and Linux operating system allows many accounts to concurrent access on one computer, but this  coolest and useful feature doesn't work with tablets and phones, like iPad. With Google's Android Jelly Been 4.2 update, you are able to get multiple user account switching on Nexus 10 and 7 tablets.

Android 4.2 offers customized apps and data for each user. Everyone has their own home screen, apps, widgets, background, widgets, and games. The system saves the levels and scores of accounts. If one user has already downloaded an app, another could get instantly have its .apk file, without re-downloading anything.

This is a good solution while you are sharing a single tablet with multiple people in the family or in office.
