Can you auto-open pdf files within Android browser

While I access websites using the Chrome on my Nexus 7 or   Galaxy Tab, I have to download the PDF, word or other documents and then manually open them by Acrobat Reader from the Downloads. The process spends lots of time waiting for that and managing all files. Can I directly click on the link and auto-launch a PDF file within the Chrome or other browser? So I can view files linked in web pages. How to resolve the problem? The default browser doesn't support the feature. To open PDF within the browser, you could try the following work around. * Download and install Dolphin Browser from the Google Play store. Then  download PDF reader plugin for Dolphin to your device and install it. Now you are able to view a PDF attachment from an HTML page.
