Fix Nexus 7 won't turn on issue

I have played with my Nexus 7 for about 8 hours. There was about 20 percent battery left and the tablet turned itself off. I tried plugging it in and letting it sit for a few minutes and no battery icon appeared. I have never turn it on yet and I think it is dead. Pressing the power button for 5 seconds and nothing shows up on the screen. I haven't rooted the device. Is there a way to fix the issues?

If the Nexus 7 won't turn on, you just have to hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more. it will power on again and that does the trick. You might hadn't held the button down long enough. It seems like a very comon issue on a "brand new" device. If not working, you'd better go to send a replacement.

  2. It's not working for me :( i've had my nexus 7 for about a month now and I normally get about 2 days of use from it though I usually charge it half way through the second day since I use my nexus faithfully all day everyday at school and during my 2 hour commute to school. But I turned it died last night and I plugged it up and it had the charging icon so I left it alone. When I tried to turn it on it just sat there like a black shiny slate. I tried the long press for over 2 minutes, and tried multiple short presses. Im so sad.. im a big supporter of google products but this is making me sad because the only warranty that comes with it is a 2 week warranty so im not sure if they will replace it and as a full time college student who stopped working after summer, I don't have another 250 to shell out for a new one.
