Nexus 7 Stuck on Google logo boot screen

Today I get a problem with Nexus 7. I has unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom recovery. The tablet boots up, gets into the bootloader and stucks at the Google Logo with the lock symbol. There is a white Google logo on black background. Now I can't do anything with the tablet. Will it become bricked? How to fix the issues?

Try holding volume down + power for 10 seconds. The device should be powered off. Then hold both vol up + down down and power up and HOLD. Hope the tip could solve the problem.

If Nexus 7 is still frozen in Bootloader Mode, Download the system Factory Images for Nexus Devices and flash the images via terminal or cmd prompt.

  1. I'm having the same problem. I can't even get the tablet to turn off. Just reboots back to the Google logo with padlock screen no matter what. I've tried all the key holding combos that there are and no luck. Hope you find something to unbrick it before I send this thing back for a refund

  2. I'm also having the same problem. It keeps rebooting to the padlock screen with the date and time displayed.

I got it a few hours ago and went through the basic setup. I added my gmail account information and had no problems using the browser.

After putting it on the charger, to get a complete charge, it will not go past the padlock screen.

  3. I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 7. Am unable to get past the initial screen. I set up facial recognition wearing my contacts, then the Nexus 7 did not recognize my face while I was wearing my glasses. Then, after 20 pattern attempts (a very simple pattern), it locked up, and would not recognize my gmail account and psssword. I tried holding the power + up and the power + down (power + down caused the same thing that happened to ryno - it hangs at the google screen. I am thinking about taking it back.

  4. You literally are my hero. That worked well thank you, I attempted to throw CWM on there through adb... the install didnt seem "right"... regardless, I chose "recovery" from fastboot mode... and it stalled on the google logo for literally about 15 minutes.... Hitting Power and Down worked and my N7 booted up like normal. Many thanks
