How to turn off autocorrect in Nexus 7

I have purchased and got the Nexus 7 tablet. I was consistently making typos, but have to do it manually and that's fun for me. For the auto correct feature, I hate it while texting email. How do I turn off autocorrect in Nexus 7 tablet.

To setup autocorrect, you need to go into the keyboard configuration on your tablet. Touch Settings > Personal > Language & input. Tap a settings wheel next to keyboard and turn off Predictive text.

Update: Thank you for Bengu Taskesen's Comment
The auto correct can't be turned off from Language and Input (that takes you to spellcheck). While using the keyboard, hold down the microphone button until you see settings. Choose settings > android keyboard settings > auto correction. :) Then turn it off.

  1. Turning off spell check does not solve the problem. I suggest, while using the keyboard, hold down the microphone button, you'll see the settings. Choose settings > android keyboards settings > auto correction. Then turn it off :)
